I don’t want my Chief Home Officer brand to be overly female-centric because men make great CHOs too. But I do want to reach women who are nervous about home finances and empower them to take the cow by the udders. Here is why:
Ladies, did you know that research is in your favor when it comes to making financial decisions? I was recently exploring Betterment and I found this research showing that women are better investors than their male counterparts! Up top!
How does one succeed in the stock market? The old adage is:
It’s not about timing the market. It’s about time in the market.
Research shows that women tend to obey the rules of long-term investing more than men. They can make investments and stick it out, even during massive market corrections. They don’t obsessively check their portfolios and make sudden moves.
Women tend to trade less frequently as well. I know that is the case with me. I make trades very infrequently and only after updating my family balance sheet so that I know what has performed, what has not, and what I have to re-invest.
Women who do trade frequently also tend to trade more successfully! Proof is in the pudding!
You may read this and think that we are talking about female math prodigies that are not like you. We’re not. We are talking about you! If I can do this, so can you! Does this describe you?
We are in this together! We will log into our financial accounts and make awesome decisions together!
It must be noted that my family does not hold the majority of our investments in the stock market. But most of us have some form of market-based investment whether it is a 401(k), 529, or IRA. We will discuss actual investment options in an upcoming post. Stay tuned folks!
